step by step [heading decoration]

Our design process is intended to be as straightforward, yet as flexible as possible. Although every project is different, these steps have been refined through experience and prove extremely successful.

Step 1

Briefing

At the start of the project we'll need some information about you, your company and the requirements for your logo. Initially we'll discuss this with you by telephone to get a broad understanding of the project, after which we'll send a short briefing questionnaire for you to provide any additional details.

We're happy to accept as much or as little information as you feel you can provide. Many clients have no idea of what they want from the design at the start, which isn't a problem providing we have some background information to allow us to make recommendations.

You're also welcome to send any accompanying materials and additional information by post, or email. This could be anything from your own ideas and sketches that you'd like to see developed through to extra background reading for our designers.

Step 2

First Drafts

Once we've collected the brief, our designers will make a start on the initial drafts. This will involve any further research we feel necessary and the preparation of the first design concepts.

In most cases we'll send at least six concepts in the first set, depending upon the brief. This will usually take four working days or less. Although we believe that our clients don't pay us for rushed work, we won't keep you waiting any longer than necessary.

These, along with all further drafts, will be sent to you in Adobe® PDF format by email.

Step 3

Feedback

Once you've received the initial drafts, we need to know what you think. You're welcome to take as long as you need to consider them. Each design is numbered to allow you to refer to them individually in your comments.

We ask that your feedback be as specific as possible to help us understand what it was about each concept that did or did not appeal to you.

When you're ready, you can return your feedback to us by email, or if you prefer you can call and discuss your thoughts with the designers working on your project.

Step 4

Redrafts & Revisions

Once we receive your feedback our designers will continue work on the project, making changes as requested or creating new designs with your comments in mind. Whether the initial drafts are close but require further development, are not what you were looking for or if you'd just like to try something different, our designers will listen to your feedback and present further options.

These subsequent drafts are then sent as before for your further consideration. Most sets of revisions take around two days to prepare.

This process of drafting and feedback then repeats as necessary, with your comments from each set of drafts used to develop the next. At each stage the drafts will inevitably draw closer to your requirements, until you approve the final version.

Typically the entire process takes less than two weeks from start to finish, however this is only an average – we impose no maximum timescale with any of our services. It may also be possible to speed up the process to meet an urgent deadline, although this may incur additional fees which would be agreed prior to commencing work.

Step 5

Finalising

Once you have approved your final design, the artwork is prepared in a range of file types and sent to you via email for immediate use.

The files include:

  • EPS Original vector artwork, for commercial print/production
  • JPG For your own internal use e.g. Office documents
  • GIF For online use (e.g. website, emails)
  • TIF Bitmap artwork with no compression, high resolution
  • PDF For preview in Adobe Acrobat

We also provide technical information such as fonts and colour references used in the design, usage instructions and a deed of transfer assigning ownership of the design to your company.

With the project concluded, you are ready to begin using your new logo and distributing it to suppliers as required.

Step 6

Further Services

On completion of the logo design we will be pleased to offer you any of our additional services which may be of interest.

Whilst most clients choose to undertake logo and business stationery design as a combined initial order, stationery can be requested separately at this stage if necessary.

We design all types of corporate literature (e.g. brochures, advertisements, presentation folders etc.) and web site design to suit any requirements. In addition we can arrange the print of any of items to your specifications – please ask for a quotation.

Further details on all of our services can be found on this website, but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
