  • What if I'm not happy with the designs?
    • Our 'unlimited drafts' policy ensures that the final designs will be to your satisfaction, as we won't stop work until they are. Even if the early drafts aren't what you are looking for, we'll listen to your feedback and prepare as many new concepts as it takes. Provided that you continue to give us feedback we guarantee to complete the project.
  • How many designers will work on the project?
    • In most cases we assign one designer to a project, although depending on its size we may need to involve other members of the team.

The designer that we assign is determined from the brief, allowing us to match the skills of our team with your requirements. By working this way you will have only one point of contact, and we are able to build up an idea of your requirements much more quickly.

If you are unhappy with the initial drafts it's no problem to re-assign the project, but from experience this is almost never required.
  • How many drafts will I receive?
    • For logo design projects we'll normally provide at least six initial concepts. For most types of page layout work (such as brochures, leaflets, advertisements etc.) we'll send you one or two options in the first instance. We try to involve you in the process as early as possible, allowing you to give us your input and avoiding us going too far in any wrong direction at the start!

After this, the number of drafts per set will vary based upon your feedback, to adequately reflect your comments.

The total number of sets depends entirely on the point at which you approve the design. There is no limit to the total number of sets that we will prepare.
  • Which file formats will I receive?
    • For a logo design project, the final files that we supply are:

      Original Artwork

EPS v10 vector files & PDF Preview

      Internal/General Use

300dpi JPEG file in RGB colour mode

TIFF (high-quality uncompressed image) in CMYK colour mode

      Online Use

GIF files (small, medium and large sizes)

For all page layout projects, the final files will be:

      Original Artwork

In either Quark®, InDesign® or Illustrator® formats. These files allow you to edit the designs in future without necessarily returning to us.

      Print Ready

High-resolution PDF files with printers marks and colour information, set up for commercial print.

      Preview/Email

Standard PDF files without printers marks, reduced in file size for preview, email and download purposes.

We'll also include a user guide and full technical specifications for the artwork (such as colours, fonts etc.)

Please let us know if you have any other specific requirements and we'll do our very best to assist.
  • How long does it take?
    • this is a tricky question! In general, most projects complete within 1 to 3 weeks depending on the type and size. Logo designs often complete more quickly, and naturally larger projects such as multi-page brochures can be more time-consuming.

That said, many clients approve drafts from the very first set, and some projects can take much longer due to our client's requirements, for example when there are a large number of decision-makers involved. We're happy to schedule our service to suit you, and you won't be rushed if you choose to take your time.
  • Can you accept a rush order?
    • If you've got an urgent project we'll try to help, although we won't delay projects for existing clients and so our acceptance will be based upon our schedule at the time.

There may be additional fees involved under these circumstances, but we'll let you know before we start if this is the case.
  • When do I make payment?
    • As we provide a bespoke service requiring a large investment of our time, we must request payment with the placement of an order for all new clients.

This virtually eliminates the costs of bad debts and credit control, and these savings are passed on to our clients through our lower fees.

Should you return to us for further services, you may be offered a credit account (subject to our criteria). Until such time, payment can be made via card, cheque or bank transfer for your convenience.
  • Do you offer discounts?
    • Discounts are offered where we can anticipate a time-saving against our usual estimates for a service and/or based upon the overall size of the order.

As an example, a twenty page brochure will take less time than twenty individual sheets as we will understand the style that is required after the first few pages. We will need to assess your requirements – please contact us before placing your order.

If you require multiple designs or additional services, again please contact us to discuss the possibility of a discount.

Finally, we offer a discount of 10% from all fees for registered charities.
  • Who owns the copyright?
    • As all of our logo designs are created without any use of templates or clip-art, each one can be considered entirely our own work. This means that we are able to transfer the copyright entirely to you. A document confirming the transfer is supplied at the end of the project.

For page layout work, we are unable to transfer the entire copyright as the design may contain material under license, such as stock photography. To this end we supply an unlimited usage license for the layout/design that we have prepared, and any third party materials under their own respective license(s). Any materials provided by you will naturally remain your own property. You can be sure we would never re-use any materials that you supply to us for any other purpose.
